Coming from a family , where father is deceased and mother is deaf and dumb , Debanjali's family income from sundry sources is only Rs. 1000 /- a month (less than $ 21 ). Under the family's misfortune, she manages to receive an average of close to A in the Madhyamik Exam.

Debanjali participates in the school dance programmes. Her hobbies are collecting story-books, pens and reading newspapers. Debanjali wants to be Bio-Chemist when she grows up.
