Hotar Education Centre inaugurated 10th Feb

The 10th February 2008 was a day of pride for all at Lily Foundation. Mr. Gopal Chandra Pal flew all the way from England to inaugurate Rabindranath Pal Institute at Marjada, West Bengal. Dr. (Mrs.) Mila Pal and Mr. Gopal Pal are the sponsors of the Centre.

The inauguration ceremony was held at the Sarada-Ramakrishna Ashram premises. The fun-filled afternoon event was attended by invited guests of local residence as well as the grand sponsor from England. The Ashram girls demonstrated an attractive show through their dance performances. The speakers included Msrs. Sandhyamalati Chatterjee, Gopal Pal, Kalyan Mukherjee, Prasad Sarkar, Sharmila Basu and a few local dignitaries. The speakers' principal message was that the children of Hotar, the beneficiaries of the Centre, should preserve and protect it as one of their very own dear possessions, as the benefits would flow in for many many years. The sponsors were thanked for their generosity.

This Lily Foundation Education Centre provides computer training at nearly free-of-cost to local High School students and other adults. The four-year course is designed to make the training useful to find jobs in businesses and Govt-administered institutions.

Plan is to graduate 120 students every year.

Dhulai Education Centre formally opened in NOV

Dhulai, Bankura has the first Lily Foundation computer centre in the state where 120 students get trained free every year in Computer Education.

Besides computer training, other small community projects for the locals in enhancing trade skills will also be taken up.

In the recent weeks, SAIL ( Steel Authority of India Limited) held a Medcamp in the facility where thousands got free healthcheck and some medicines.

The Education Centre facility is built and fully-owned by Lily Foundation.

Friendship & Sharing -Appreciation Dinner 2008

The annual Dinner in celebration of friendship and sharing will be held Friday, the 30th of May 2008, 7:00 PM in The HOTEL INTERCONTINENTAL, 15201 Dallas Parkway, Addison, Texas 75201. $125 per person, $1000 per table of 10.

Medcamps in Bankura

Medcamps were organized in Dhulai and Narrah by the Steel Authority of India Limited [SAIL] on the 28th and 29th March at AALO 8 and AALO 17 centres. This was a boon to the numerous villagers who barely have any access to good medical facilities. Twenty doctors of various specialties, such as Skin, Dental, Othopaedics, Heart, Child, Gynae, Mental, Eye, ENT and Clinical, were at hand to examine the men and women.

Benefited at Narrah Camp: 1800 People
