Donor Appreciation Lunch on Sunday,14th September

Lily Dallas is holding a fun-filled appreciation lunch at Bombay Sizzlers [2215 N O'Connor Rd, Irving, TX 75062] on the 14th of September, 2008, where an introductory speech will be given by Lily President Mr. Anirudha Maitra. This will be followed by lunch and a slide-show.

Lily Foundation Friendship Dinner Participants - Thanks

On Friday, the 30th of May, 2008, Lily Foundation Dallas held a dinner of Friendship and appreciation, at Hotel Intercontinental, Dallas Parkway, Addison, TX with a fundraiser and auction. The evening's keynote speaker Dr. Satish Kumar flew down all the way from Ireland to grace the evening. Sponsors and guests joined the occasion not only from Dallas area, but some drove or flew from Houston and New York. The event was opened with an inaugural dance performed by students from a local Indian dance school in Dallas, followed by a speech given by Lily Foundation President Mr. Anirudha Maitra, and a delicious dinner served by one of Dallas' best. Mrs. Rakhi Mukerji's leading efforts, along with Lily Team's enthusiastic support culminated in super success. The main objective of the program was to find sponsors for coaching schools, study homes and Smile scholarships. This was done with an auction conducted by Mr. Subhash Mukerji that ended with roaring success. The sponsors, guests and volunteers were recognized and thanked for their generosity and participation.

Another year of High Achievement in Higher Secondary and Secondary School results

In India, the 2008 SMILE scholars succeeded with flourishing results in their Higher Secondary (HS) and Secondary (Madhyamik) examinations. Except for those who did not appear at the exam for health reasons or whose results are still pending, all HS candidates passed with high grades. All Madhyamik candidates passed with flying colors. Ten out of nineteen were STAR students and several in first division.

Tarrant County Back-to-School Project

Lily Foundation's commitment to the Tarrant County Back-to-School project is a demonstration of its overall commitment to education. Ten kids are sponsored by Lily for $250. All the kids are given free backpacks and other class-room needs.

Mrs. Sadhana Aggarwal has been a long-time patron of The Lily Foundation. Her commitments are always deeply appreciated. Recently, Mrs. Aggarwal has decided to add more feathers to her own cap. Her current sponsorship of 12 Smile Scholars is being added by a whopping 19 more scholar-contingent from the current season. The total number of scholarships translates to a commitment of Rs 1,80,000/- (more than $4000) annually.
